Your Money & How is Should be Spent

It is really easy to spend money on items that you don't need. We are going to help you figure out how to responibly spend and save your hard-earned dollars.

You!

While budgeting out your money, the most important thing to take into consideration is you! You need to make sure you can pay what you need to pay, so you can survive. Health, Shelter, and Food should be the priority.

Food

If you have or worries about your budget (or even if you don't!), then you should be meal planning. Take 10 minutes at the start of the week and plan out every meal for that week. This way, you don;t overbuy food, and your fresh produce doesn't end up spoiling. Just don't forget to include a day for leftovers!

Transportation

You have to have riliable transportation. If you have a car, then you also have a lot of other expense that you have to take into account (insurance, gas, etc.). Make sure you plan for those. Alternatively , if you live in a large city (or are just tired of paying for gas), taking a train or taxi might be the best option. Make sure you plan accordingly.

Unexpected Costs

in case of emergencies, such as your car breaking down unexpectedly, you will want to keep an emergency fund on the side for rainy days.

Savings

As a college student, you will need to do some major savings in order to escape student debt. Factor in your scholarships/any benefits you will be receiving.

Fun!

Do not forget to balance out your school life with your personal life! Having fun is important and keeps up your morality and happiness. Budget extra money on the side for some nights out.
